Lampwork involves melting colored glass rods into shapes using a special torch. Tracy Elliot discovered this unique art form after twenty- seven years as a hobbyist goldsmith using the lost wax technique. She found many similarities between the two art forms and was soon completely addicted to melting glass. She uses many of the same instruments when working with melted wax or hot glass. The short window while the glass is melted, is when she manipulates the glass into the different shapes, or blows the glass into a seashell or broken heart, etc.
Tracy uses only 100% Sterling Silver, all wire is hand forged, and all the lampwork glass beads are her original designs.

Two years in a row, Tracy won first place in Bayou City Art Festival's "Cadillac Best in Show Houston Artist", 2009 and 2010.

Tracy's art work is available at 18 Hands Gallery in the Heights. She will be in Bayou City Art Festival Memorial Park, March 23-25, 2012.
