Mike is coming back to his first love…wood. After becoming disillusioned from 17 years of building furniture and cabinetry for others, he went back to school and had a brief stint in the electronics industry. But something was missing.

In the summer of 2005 Mike spent two months at the Penland School of Crafts. The energy and inspiration that came from living and working in that environment revitalized him. While at Penland he realized that the creative process had to become a focal point in his life. Now he is experiencing the joys and occasional frustrations of bringing his designs to life…”You have to be willing to stretch your design and technical skills.
